Episode 25: God is listening to us!

Well Hello!!
So honestly it's been a half and half kind of week! My weeks motto was the half full/empty glass of water. With that being said, let's hear about the great things I have witnessed this week!!

So Sister Harrison...gosh dangit I love this woman. Makes some of the BEST biscuits and of course we need the BEST kind of jam so we had to do a quick emergency stop at Target and prayed for God to make this very important trip purposeful. You guys God is listening to us, what more can I say?? As we were checking out, our cashier sparked up a friendly conversation about our name tags! (Guys those things were so inspired) and he asked a lot of questions, saying he went to Liberty University. And for those who don't know, it's like a BYU Baptist school and almost everyone is Baptist! Bless their hearts but this is why this place is a hard one to serve because missionaries get bashed a lot here. But my favorite question was "What is the difference between your church and the Baptist church?" Haha Honestly, in my opinion, that was a hard question to answer because I wanted to say "not much, but then a lot!" "There is so much you just don't know!" "And we can help you find it!" Haha we looked at each other and smiled and went into our spiel of the Restoration. We gave him our information and he said he would love to meet with us! Not 20 minutes later, he texted us and he wanted to meet...pretty crazy lol. Fast forward, we met with him and ya...it was the nicest Bible bash I have been a part of. He was nice but didn't seem genuinely interested, which is so sad! But he wants to keep meeting as long as he keeps committed to learning...we will teach!

Onto the Davis' and the Campbell's...both are past referrals with so much potential but haven't been able to meet with either so we might be saying bye :(  It's the circle of life though. But because we might be dropping 2 people from out teaching pool, the Lord thought it fit for 2 more referrals to be sent our way!!! It's crazy insane why this keeps happening haha. I don't know what we are doing but apparently something right haha!! We also were able to see a less active, Kendrick S! This kid, wow!! He is a recent convert 3 years ago and we got real with him...it was awesome! His testimony of this gospel was so powerful, and it made all 3 of us so sad that he had fallen away. He outright stated that it was time to come back! Haha I'm telling you this guy had so much spirit to him! He also debated if serving a mission is for him or if he should join the military instead! I shared that my older brother, Colby joined the military and how many missionary experiences he has had and we just talked for a while about our purpose here on this earth and how to find our purpose and true happiness :)  We invited him to come to church and he did!! Everyone was going up to him and telling him that they missed him!!! Ahh those moments when the ward comes together to welcome back those people who haven't come in a while are some of the most precious moments I have witnessed while being a missionary. Ministering to those is so important and guys it just brings the best of feelings this gospel can bring. With one specific person we are teaching, we are trying to help them realize they are a child of God. The fact that I am a daughter of God astounds me sometimes. It is hard to comprehend all that that means and it is easy to forget how important it is. We are so often negative about ourselves and yet we have such immense potential because our origin is so much bigger than we realize. I am so grateful for the church because without it, I would not have this truth in my life. I cannot imagine how lost I would feel without the hope that comes from knowing where I come from and where I am going. This gospel is amazing!! I love you all! Have a great week!

Episide 24: I LOVE General Conference!!!

~A Wall of Inspiration~
go where the peace is...Bring Your Own Sparkle...got this...This is My Happy Place :)
Okay, quick testimony of this gospel...have I expressed how much I love General Conference?!?!??? How cool is it that we get to hear from our Prophet and Apostles and other leaders of the church? I can't even begin to think about all that I have learned and want to implement into my life immediately!! I felt the messages were for me and I was able to apply each of the talks into my life! Crazy how God does that right? I love the Holy Ghosts' role in my life. For Him to be my constant companion, nothing against all my companions but He is the best!!! For Him to be there with me at all times is the greatest gift given. I have been studying a lot about the Godhead and Their roles in our individual lives and how important it is to be living righteously so we may know the things the Lord would have us know. My favorite is the times when the Holy Ghost simply, but powerfully testifies of the love my Savior and my Heavenly Father have for me. How important it is to keep our relationship with the Holy Ghost.

Onto the things of this week! So it was purposefully a slower week haha. After the craziness we have experienced, we made sure we had the time to study and rejuvenate our spirits and be able to focus on General Conference. But we had amazing lessons with people and did a lot of service! While helping a family move some rocks, we found a couple of frogs and of course being the Disney princess I am, I had to kiss it hahahaha. It was totally one of the highlights of the week! Not going to lie, the mission is getting pretty hard knowing I'm coming up on my halfway point! But knowing I have others still counting on me to share the gospel with them is so humbling. Knowing I have such an amazing support group back home and even here is comforting. More importantly, knowing I have the Savior to lean on and follow in His footsteps until I can return back to His side. I'm deeply grateful for the time to be able to serve for my Father in Heaven. I'm even more grateful for the opportunity to have my own testimony grow and see the fruits of the spirit in action. In General Conference someone said "Greater happiness comes from greater personal holiness." Let us always remember that this road may not be nice and smoothly paved but can be a like a rocky incline. When our journey gets hard, remember that as long as we hold fast to the gospel and its teachings, we can receive the specific guidance we need to swiftly move past all the dangerous paths. I love this gospel, I love my Redeemer, I love my Father in Heaven. I am so grateful to have you all who read about my crazy east coast adventures and to support me in my decision to serve a mission!! Thank you and I love you all!!

We did lots of SERVICE this week!
We found a frog and being the Disney Princess I am...
I KISSED THE FROG!!!
One of our service projects was to remove garbage out of a shed.
Built a fire:)
It's a thing in our mission to take pictures with toilets LOL
Cookie Decorating!
Yum
We got a bunch of old ties to make more ties!!
I learned how to make homemade ties here on the mission:)
There is Sunshine in my Soul Today!
It reached 96 degrees this week so we had to move our beds downstairs in our apartment. Then this morning we moved them back upstairs because it's been in the 60's!!!
Frozen grapes were our General Conference treat!
Life can be CrAzY...but when we take time to study and rejuvenate, we will find peace and joy!
